Back when I first started publishing Retailers Forum Magazine one of the first trade shows I exhibited at was the Transworld Show in Chicago at Rosemont. I think the show ran five days back then and it was one of the premier shows in the industry. The first show that I did there was in January and Chicago was hit with a major snow storm and blizzard. There I was the first day of the show in 40below zero weather worried that I had blown my budget for marketing because no one would show up.
Lo and behold, the show was packed for the full run! I had never experienced anything like this in my exhibiting days. The show was just THAT popular in the industry. For years it was one of the best shows in the midwest.
The markets have changed and for various reasons the Transworld Show was put on hiatus for a while while it was retooled. This summer the show is coming back and it is an exciting for everyone. The midwest market is a fabulous one that has been untapped for quite some time. The show has excellent rates and package deals and we hope that it will be a tremendous success. The show will be held July 9-12 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
